Privacy Policy
Every tool on AP98 runs in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Local processing
When you add a file to any tool on this site, it is read by JavaScript running in your browser tab. The bytes are passed to a decoder or encoder that also runs in your browser. No file content is sent to any server at any point.
This means:
- There is no upload step. The file stays on your device.
- Nothing is stored after you close or reload the page.
- There is no server log of what you converted or inspected.
- The browser's own memory is the only place the file exists while the tool is running.
What we do not collect
- We do not see, store, or transmit the content of any file you process.
- We do not require an account, email address, or any personal information to use the tools.
- We do not place tracking cookies that follow you across other sites.
Analytics and advertising
Advertising and third-party analytics are disabled by default in this build. No advertising publisher ID and no analytics endpoint are configured, so no advertising or tracking script is loaded and no request is made before you choose. If they are enabled in the future, advertising will be clearly labelled, analytics will record only anonymous event names, and neither will have access to your file contents.
Browser data and cookies
The site uses local storage and session storage only for remembering your preferences (such as the last quality setting you chose). These are stored on your device and are never sent to a server.
Third-party libraries
The tools use open-source libraries (pdf-lib, pdf.js, read-excel-file, write-excel-file and others) that run entirely in your browser. These libraries do not make network requests with your file data.
