Limits and things to know
- The preview is exported as a cleaned CSV file; it is not an on-screen grid with sorting.
- Non-UTF-8 encodings other than UTF-16 with a byte-order mark are read as UTF-8.
Example
Checking an export before import
Add a file that uses semicolons and quoted decimals, for example id;name;amount with the value 10,50 in the last column. Switch the delimiter to Semicolon if detection is ambiguous and confirm the column count before importing it elsewhere.
Frequently asked questions
Does the viewer change my data?
It re-serialises the parsed table using standard CSV quoting. Values are preserved, but the exact whitespace and line endings of the original file are not guaranteed to match.
Why does my delimiter show as comma?
When every candidate delimiter appears equally often in the first lines the tool falls back to a comma. Choose the delimiter explicitly to override detection.
Can I open a TSV file?
Yes. Tab-separated files are accepted and the tab delimiter is detected automatically or can be selected.
