Resize Image
Set a width, a height or a percentage and get a new image with exactly those dimensions. The reported size is read back from the finished file, not calculated in advance.

Waiting for files
Accepted input
- JPEG, PNG and WebP images, up to 10 at a time
Limits
- Up to 20 MB per image and 10 images per batch.
- Up to 40 megapixels per image, checked before the pixels are allocated.
- Zero, negative and non-numeric sizes are rejected before any work starts.
Local processing
- Files are read in your browser and are never uploaded to a server.
- Nothing is stored after you close or reload the page.
- Resampling happens on a canvas inside your browser tab.
How to use Resize Image
- Add the image or images you want to resize.
- Enter a width and height in pixels, or switch to percent and enter one number.
- Press Resize images and download each result; the new dimensions are printed with it.
What it does
- Reports the real output dimensions by reading the encoded file back.
- Keeps the aspect ratio by default and can fit inside a box instead of stretching.
- Refuses to enlarge unless you ask for it, so a resize never silently wastes bytes.
Limits and things to know
- Enlarging cannot restore detail that was never captured; the result is interpolated.
- Resizing strips EXIF, GPS and camera metadata because the pixels are re-encoded.
- Very large targets are refused above 40 megapixels rather than crashing the tab.
Example
Preparing product photos for a 1200×900 slot
Add eight 3000×2000 photos, set 1200 and 900 with the aspect ratio kept, and press Resize images. Each result fits inside the slot at 1200×800 so no image is cropped or stretched.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my image not exactly the size I typed?
With the aspect ratio kept, the result fits inside the box you typed, so one side is smaller than requested. Turn the option off to force both sides, which stretches the picture.
Can I make an image bigger?
Yes, but you have to allow enlarging. The pixels are interpolated, so the file gets larger and looks softer rather than sharper.
Are my photo location tags kept?
No. The image is decoded and re-encoded, so EXIF data such as GPS coordinates, camera model and timestamps are removed. Use a dedicated metadata tool if you need to keep them.
