Waiting for files

Accepted input

  • One PDF file

Limits

  • Up to 50 MB per PDF and 100 MB in total.
  • Up to 200 pages per document.
  • Password protected PDFs are refused with a clear message.

Local processing

  • Files are read in your browser and are never uploaded to a server.
  • Nothing is stored after you close or reload the page.

How to use Split PDF

  1. Add the PDF you want to split.
  2. Type the pages to keep, for example 1-3,5 or 8- for the last page onwards.
  3. Press Split PDF and download the new file.

What it does

  • Supports single pages, ranges such as 4-9, and open-ended ranges such as 12-.
  • Keeps the order you typed, so 5,1-2 produces pages 5, 1 and 2.
  • Explains every ignored part, such as page 40 in a 12 page file or a repeated page.

Limits and things to know

  • Only whole pages can be extracted; cropping a region needs an image editor.
  • Bookmarks and links inside the document are not rebuilt.
  • Selecting nothing valid stops the run instead of producing an empty PDF.

Example

Sending one page of a 40 page report

Type 7 to extract page 7 on its own. Type 1-3,12,20- to keep the summary pages, one appendix page and a trailing section.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I type a page that does not exist?

That part is ignored and the reason is listed under the options box, so you can correct the range.

Can I split into one file per page?

Yes. Enter each page separately, for example 1,2,3,4, and the result keeps that page order in one document.

Is there a one page per file mode?

Not yet. This version builds a single document from the pages you select.
